John Lewis reveals Christmas shop 4 months early as searches rise 105%

John Lewis has launched its Christmas shop four months early after searches for its festive products had skyrocketed. The retailer said online searches for Christmas products have already doubled on last year’s record high – with a rise of 105 per cent – and expects this year’s Christmas to be the biggest yet.

UK retail footfall up 4.9% from last week

Footfall in UK retail destinations increased by 4.9 per cent last week from the prior seven day period. The latest data from Springboard revealed that high streets and shopping centres fared the best with respective uplifts of 6.9 per cent and 4.8 per cent.

Harvey Nichols launches in-store drop off point for preloved childrenswear

Harvey Nichols has launched an in-store childrenswear resale destination called The Drop Off. The department store has partnered with resale platform Kids O’Clock on the service, which allows shoppers to “drop off” preloved children’s clothing. The items are then collected by Kids O’Clock and resold around the world on its website.

Woman Made celebrates a century of products designed by women

Architect Jane Hall has written an A to Z-style book charting the work of both iconic and unknown woman product designers over the last century, including Ray Eames and Isle Crawford. Released by Phaidon, Woman Made: Great Woman Designers collects work from more than 200 designers hailing from over 50 countries around the world.
