Summer bank holiday boosts the UK footfall by 5.4%
Due to the latest report by Springboard, the May Bank Holiday proved fruitful for UK shopping destinations with footfall increasing by 5.4%. High streets especially benefited from the 3-day weekend, with an increase of 8.5% in their footfall compared to 2022.
Lush partners with new Wes Anderson, Asteroid City, for Soho pop-up
Lush has opened a Lush X Asteroid City pop-up gift shop for just 5 weeks, which features a 4-piece Lush collection along with free slushies for shoppers. The new 4-piece collection is exclusively available at the pop-up before it is rolled out to the rest of their stores. The collection’s bath bomb, soap, shower gel and shower jelly are inspired by Anderson’s new film.
IKEA Family loyalty scheme gets a revamp
Members of the IKEA loyalty scheme will be able to enjoy new perks in the UK from 2025, as the company prepare to roll out new advantages as part of their IKEA Family scheme. The new scheme is tipped to make members feel more rewarded and offer them more chances to receive benefits for just using the app or planning tool.
TikTok traffic to online stores soars in May
TikTok continues to beat Instagram and Facebook when it comes to driving social media traffic to e-commerce websites. With consumers turning to online shopping more and more, it is no surprise that the Adobe Digital Economy Index analysis found that TikTok’s e-commerce traffic rose by 378% from January 2022 to May 2023.
