Why are these shades, reminiscent of cookies and cream, chocolate and caramel still standing so strong?
Many people are leaning into bold colours and joyous patterns at the moment, with dopamine decor and dressing dominating design conversations. However, that certainly doesn’t mean neutrals are nowhere to be seen; in fact, they’re more popular than ever. Over the last few years, we’ve seen people warming up their surroundings and outfits by opting for warm shades of cream, beige and brown instead of stark cool whites, greys and blacks that dominated for half a decade prior.
So why are these shades, reminiscent of cookies and cream, chocolate and caramel still standing so strong? Being tones and textures that organically appear in nature – soil, sand, the bark of trees – means that when we bring them into our surroundings, we feel similar senses of calm as if we were in serene outdoor surroundings. They look fantastic layered together or as a foundation for bolder statement pieces.
