2021 Christmas Trends

The festive season may be well and truly upon us, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late for retailers, brands and designers to attract customers using the period’s most prominent trends.

More than ever, we’re seeing a departure from seasonal styles and, instead, an influx of themes that carry a customers’ year-round style and personality into the season. With an enhanced focus on sustainability, this take also increases the likelihood of Christmas decorations being used for longer, and even for other celebrations and occasions.

Our partner, Press Loft, has shared their top Christmas trends, based on what the world’s leading lifestyle, interiors and design journalists using their platform have downloaded to feature in their festive spreads.

Monochrome Magic

Anyone who visited Top Drawer in September will have seen this captivating trend brought to life. A sophisticated take on all things Christmas, this style is a sure-fire way to make a statement whilst keeping things simple.

Pastel Party

A fail-safe favourite for spring/ summer, this season, pastels are being carried right through to winter, bringing with them a sense of fun and optimism needed by many following last year’s difficult time.

Enchanting Blues

A deep, dark blue has been the go-to in many homes over recent years and in 2021 it’s making its transition to the Christmas colour palette. Evoking a sense of luxury and richness, it’s the perfect atmospheric tone for this time of year.

Cabincore

The trend that sees no signs of slowing down, this season Cottagecore is colliding with Christmas, leaving us with the beautiful, comforting styles of Cabincore. Combining rich wood and organic materials with nature-inspired motifs, this style aids our ongoing desire to bring the outside in all year round.

Natural Nature (Feat. Festive Fungai)

An eternal muse for anything creative, this Christmas we’re sourcing inspiration from all things nature. Muted, organic colour palettes meet decorations created in the form of fauna and flora, with a special inclusion this year of mushrooms.
